Title: The Structural Biology of Proline Metabolism

Proline metabolism has multifaceted roles in cancer, stress protection, protein chaperoning, cell signaling, programmed cell death, nutrient adaptation and survival, and pathogen virulence.  This lecture will summarize the physiological importance of proline metabolism and present structural and functional data for some of the enzymes of proline metabolism.  In particular, I will describe how the enzymes of proline catabolism communicate with each other via protein-protein interactions and substrate channeling.
